You're feeling like you're faking love because you really doesen't know that person. That hits very close to home, because living lonely and rarely spending time with someone you're getting attracted too just for a day or even a night feels like a dream. But main character sings about dreaming or reminiscing about occurrence of a perfect day in her life, where she's "get the feeling ~ she's truly living". You're starting to believe that you didn't need anyone in your life and you're achiving true happiness alone. My interpritation is simple and just about everyday life spiraling towards loneliness and a role of love and happiness in it. I don't think this song neither dark neither about loosing virginity. the singer is no longer trying in their own life, and would be fine with ruining others’ lives if that meant that they can get the temporary sexual or emotional fulfillment that they so desire. the singer has finally given up- and is now genuinely immoral with their actions. which is sad, but that’s the case.Īt the end: i believe “let’s go and steal some flowers” means ruining others lives by emotionally manipulating more people into giving the singer love and attention.

I was thinking that the singer also begins to become more demanding and desperate in order to fill the void in their heart. the singer’s fear of love yet desire for love spirals the singer out of control. like- when you get gifted flowers as a romantic gesture, your knee jerk response to be admire the flowers (embrace the love) NOT EAT EM LMAO. i think the singer may also be “swallowing the flowers” because innately- they do not believe they deserve love, even though they so DESPERATELY desire it. people are romantically falling for the singer and the singer is trying to hide the evidence of their flaky ways. i’m thinking that figuratively, these one-night-stand lovers are “gifting flowers” to the singer (confessing their love)- so “swallowing the flowers” would mean that the singer is either trying to accept this love or trying to get rid of it (albeit getting rid of it crudely).
flowers are usually celebratory or given as a gift romantically or out of honor. this attempt to fill the void in their heart drives them to have countless situationships. they’re dissatisfied with their life, and feel as though they’ll never find love or happiness in the situation they’re in. they want love so badly, but they’re only coming across one night stand partners. The singer is trying to fill a void that they have. the singer is emotionally abusive, so without a concrete way in order to accuse the singer of being cruel- the singer can trick their “lovers” into believing that they’re not hurting. this also makes “kitten’s sweet demise” connotation sound wildly different 🥲 “lies are clear when you can grasp it” can mean that the singer is so good at emotional manipulation that people cannot pick up on the situation until the singer has already broken their heart. the seemingly promiscuous lyrics allude to the singer taking advantage of people’s hearts by making them fall in love with them, and then stealing that right of passage away. “plucking petals off each flower” can represent the taking of virginity.
